When it comes to giving gifts to pet parents it can be kind of tough, especially with those with unique pets or mixed breeds. It's like finding your name on one of those keychains you get when you go on vacation. "No Jada, Shipoopi, or Delmar? I mean, come on!" This week we are looking at a very creative and personalized gift you can make at home for yourself, or gift to your favorite pet parent. Introducing...PaintaPic!

Bad behavior on the leash is the most common dog-related problem I run into and it is one of those basic skills that seems to be so difficult to master. Usually, Jada is pulling like a sled dog and barking at other dogs. So frustrating! I have been wanting to improve our leash skills, but could not seem to find the right method that would work with my dogs. Thankfully, I now have a dog trainer for a best friend who guided me in the right direction with one of her books, Control on Leash: Revolutionary Leash Walking Techniques for Dogs.

This past weekend I attended my first BarkWorld in Atlanta, Georgia! It was a lot of fun and my dad, Jada, and Bailey attended. There were many great brands there and we wanted to share them with you in this swag review, aka lots of pictures of stuff on Jada's head. Thank you to Dr. Buzby's Toe Grips for sponsoring me so I could attend!

We were contacted by Michelle Huntting to see if we would want to attend her new online dog training class called "The Zen Dog". I was very eager and so far we have attended the first two weeks and have two more to go. Jada and Bailey have learned so much and seem to have better manners overall.

Review: Canine HealthCheck

The Chesnut Mutts Canine HealthCheck Review

["The Chesnut Mutts" were given a genetic screening in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are genuinely mine and we would not share a product that we did not fully believe in. Please do not use any image without permission. Post also contains affiliate links.]

There have been many swab tests for dogs that have come out recently. We have DNA tests, allergy tests, and now we have Canine HealthCheck.

Paw Print Genetics Canine HealthCheck Genetic health screening for dogs

Canine HealthCheck is a genetic screening for dogs which checks over 150 genes for mutations that could cause genetic disorders or diseases.

It is not a breed identification test, but rather a complete genetic health screen. This is useful because the results will tell you if your dog is at risk or is a carrier for many genetic diseases. You can use this information to prepare for your pup's future.

Review: ImmuneIQ Allergy Test for Dogs and Cats

The Chesnut Mutts Immune IQ review

["The Chesnut Mutts" were not paid for this review. All opinion are genuinely mine and we would not share a product that we did not fully believe in. Please do not use any image without permission. Post also contains affiliate links.]

UPDATE:
ImmuneIQ has been found as a fraud.
People had sent in fake fur and it was coming back with results. ImmuneIQ replied by removing itself from the market.

When it comes to allergies, eliminating certain foods does help in general. Minimal ingredients help target the pesky allergens. This is why people saw results with this product. I'm leaving my review as is to educate the public.

Ever since Jada was a little puppy, she has suffered from ear infections. We couldn't figure out what was causing her to itch and I figured it was an allergy or an intolerance to some kind of food. For years, I have kept Jada away from chicken, thinking that was the culprit, all the while trying to find a way to find exactly what was causing the problem.
